The Patapedia is divided into 3 sectors. Sector 1 includes 15 pools such as the Big Indian, Ravine Brûlé and Jumeau du Haut. We're fishing the grilse.
It is possible to wade there although one almost always uses a canoe facilitating the movement of a pool to another.
Where
Located on the plateaus of the valley about 68 km west of the municipality of Matapédia by the forest, the Patapédia River is a dream for all lovers of salmon fishing. Powered by Lakes Supérieur and Chasseur, it travels the mountains for 70 km and will jump into the very famous reservoir of the Restigouche River, One Million Dollar Pool recognized for the incredible number of salmon it contains. The Patapedia, whose lower part marks the border between Quebec and New Brunswick, is located in the middle of the forest which offers a tranquility out of the ordinary. With its cold and clear water, this river provides an exceptional habitat to Salmo salar. And what about the trip to get there: landscapes breathtaking!
The run is usually done at the beginning of June and it is also at this time that the fishing begins, which extends over a period of three months. This is at its peak between the last week of June and the second week of August

For sector 1, it is necessary to register for the draw 48 hours in advance by contacting one of our reception positions.
Patapedia is very popular for wilderness fishing and the lodging packages offered. Several fishermen have dreamed one day of a stay with accommodation in the splendid pavilion of the 23rd mile or a trip of three days on this magnificent river which abounds with salmon.
