Because it is not crowded, and almost exclusively by locals, the Humqui River is probably one of the best places to learn the basics of fly fishing without pressure.
The Humqui River allows fishing for trout and grilse only. All large salmon (63 cm and over) must be returned to the water.
A maximum of 5 trouts of which 30 cm maximum per day are allowed. For a chance to fish on this river, you must be a holder of the provincial salmon license.
Where
The river has its source in Humqui Lake and then cross the village of Saint-Zénon du Lac Humqui and Saint-Léon-Le-Grand. She ended her road about 29 km, in the Matapedia River in the heart of the town of Amqui.
